&
Planned Donations
Your support helps protect bluebirds for generations to come.
How Your Legacy Gift Helps
Supports materials, predator guards, conduit, and delivery of nest boxes to trail monitors.
Funds speakers, outreach events, brochures, handouts, and the quarterly Wisconsin Bluebird newsletter.
Covers county contact work, new‑monitor support, and research to improve nest box design and placement.
Stewardship & Transparency
BRAW is committed to using every legacy gift responsibly and transparently. Funds are managed with care, reviewed by the Board, and directed to programs that directly support bluebirds and the people who monitor and protect them.
Year-End Giving Opportunity
Many supporters choose to make a legacy or planned gift at year’s end. These gifts help ensure BRAW can continue protecting bluebirds, supporting trail monitors, and expanding education efforts across Wisconsin.

2. Choose Your Assets Decide whether you want to donate cash, property, or specific

3. Consult Professionals Work with a licensed estate planning attorney or financial

Charitable Bequests
Retirement Accounts
Naming a charity as the beneficiary of a traditional IRA or 401(k) allows the nonprofit to receive the funds tax-free, helping your heirs avoid heavy income taxes on inherited retirement assets.
You can name a charity as a primary or contingent beneficiary of an active policy. Alternatively, you can transfer ownership of a paid‑up policy directly to a charity, which may provide you with an immediate tax deduction.
Life Insurance Policies
Charitable Trusts
Tools like Charitable Remainder Trusts (CRTs) and Charitable Lead Trusts (CLTs) let you transfer highly appreciated assets (like real estate or stock) into a trust. This provides income streams for you or your beneficiaries, with the remainder ultimately supporting your chosen charities.
